Microsoft Teams Web Camera or Microphone Permission

Teams on the web can require permission at more than one layer: Teams/app permission, browser site permission and sometimes organization policy.

Evidence first

What the independent test changes

If DeviceOK passes

A granted browser permission narrows the problem to Teams/app settings, device selection, organization policy or hardware behavior.

If DeviceOK fails

A blocked browser permission must be resolved before Teams web can use that device feature.

Safe sequence

Check these in order

  1. 1

    Run DeviceOK Browser Permission Check.

  2. 2

Open Teams app permissions for the embedded app/device feature if applicable.

  3. 3

Allow camera/microphone in your browser site permissions for Teams.

  4. 4

Refresh the Teams web app after changing permission.

Verify

Retest instead of guessing

After changing one setting, run the independent DeviceOK test again before moving to a more invasive step. This preserves evidence and avoids changing multiple variables at once.
