→Strong use cases
- Camera and microphone tests
- Keyboard, mouse, display and ordinary Web Audio tests
- Comparing whether a problem reproduces outside a Chromium browser
Important limitations
- WebHID, WebUSB, Web Serial and some other advanced hardware integrations are not generally available in Firefox
- Saved site permissions can block a new prompt until changed or removed
- OS-level app/browser permissions can still prevent camera or mic use
If camera or microphone access is blocked
- 1
Open Firefox Settings → Privacy & Security → Permissions.
- 2
Review Camera and Microphone saved permissions for the site.
- 3
Remove a stale Block/Allow decision when you want Firefox to prompt again.
