Creator Setup Check

Verify the browser-testable audio and video path before streaming, recording, or creating content.

Inspection principle

Creator reliability comes from proving each signal path before opening the production stack: camera, microphone, monitoring output, capture path and storage/network where relevant.

1
Microphone levelSee a live input level meter and identify audio that is too quiet or clipping.

2
Mic clippingDetect repeated peaks that suggest your microphone gain may be too high.

Physical & native checks

These close the blind spots a website cannot inspect.

1
Production-app routing

Confirm OBS/DAW/editor sources point to the same devices tested in DeviceOK.

Why it matters: Virtual devices and stale source selections are common causes of app-only failure.
2
USB/power topology

Avoid overloading a bus-powered hub; compare a direct port or powered hub when dropouts occur.

Why it matters: Power or USB bandwidth problems can affect multiple creator devices at once.
3
Short real recording

Make a short local recording in the actual production app and review audio sync, frame stability and channel routing.

Why it matters: A live preview does not prove the entire encode/record pipeline.
Stop / escalate

Conditions that deserve caution

  • Repeated device disconnects, overheating or damaged power/USB connectors.
  • Important recording media is not backed up before destructive troubleshooting.
Decision rule

How to use the evidence

Prove the raw signal first, then add the production software layer. If the raw signal is stable but the recording is not, investigate app, encode, routing and system load.
