Correct high-wattage charger

Verify the included adapter is the correct model/wattage and charging remains stable under normal use.

Why it matters: A low-power substitute can make a healthy laptop throttle or discharge under load.

Native resolution and refresh

Confirm the OS can select the advertised panel resolution/refresh mode and repeat after a restart.

Why it matters: A high-refresh panel stuck at 60 Hz can indicate driver, mux, cable or panel configuration issues.

Discrete GPU recognition

Use the OS/OEM/GPU utility to verify the advertised discrete GPU is present and active where expected.

Why it matters: A webpage cannot authoritatively enumerate protected GPU hardware state.

Fans, vents and sustained-load behavior

Inspect vents for blockage/damage and use the OEM/current monitoring path to check temperatures/fan behavior during a controlled workload.

Why it matters: Short browser interaction does not prove thermal stability.

Review native battery health/cycle information and look for swelling or rapid drop.

Why it matters: Gaming-laptop batteries often experience more heat and cycle stress.

Verify advertised drives/capacity and native health information.

Why it matters: Storage faults can be costly and are not visible through ordinary browser APIs.

  • Wrong/underpowered charger is presented as the original requirement without disclosure.
  • GPU disappears, crashes or shows repeatable artifacting under a controlled native check.
  • Battery swelling or abnormal heat is present.
  • Required high-refresh mode or a critical port cannot be made stable with known-good equipment.

Do not price a gaming laptop from cosmetic condition alone. Power, thermals and discrete-GPU stability can dominate repair cost.
