Code 52: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device

Microsoft says the driver may be unsigned or corrupted.

First action

Install a current signed driver from Windows or the hardware manufacturer's official site.

Use the error code as a Windows device-state clue. It does not by itself identify the exact failed component inside the hardware.

Then verify

Do not stop at the code disappearing

    Do not disable driver-signature protections as a routine fix.

    If an official driver still triggers Code 52, contact the vendor.

After Windows reports the device normally, run the matching DeviceOK test when one exists—for example camera, microphone, keyboard, mouse, controller or audio—to confirm the user-facing function works.
