the browser or game cannot see the controller
If the live test passes, the investigation can usually move away from total hardware failure and toward the affected app, permissions, routing or configuration.
Try the simple causes first
- 1
Run the DeviceOK controller test and record button, stick, trigger, and connection results.
- 2
Reconnect the controller and compare USB versus Bluetooth if both are supported.
- 3
Check whether the same input fails outside the affected game/app.
Work through the problem in order
- 1
Run the DeviceOK controller test and record button, stick, trigger, and connection results.
- 2
Reconnect the controller and compare USB versus Bluetooth if both are supported.
- 3
Check whether the same input fails outside the affected game/app.
- 4
Review game/controller mapping and dead-zone settings before assuming hardware failure.
- 5
Use the platform/controller maker's official calibration or firmware tools when available.
- 6
If a physical input is consistently abnormal across tests and apps, repair or replacement may be appropriate.
If the controller passes the DeviceOK test, prioritize the affected application, permissions, routing, or configuration before assuming the hardware is dead.
If the controller also fails in DeviceOK and another trusted app, broaden the diagnosis to connection, OS settings, drivers/firmware, and then possible hardware failure.
